Cooperation Agreement with KRMC/Korea


Nagra and KRMC (Korean Radioactive Waste Management Corporation) signed today a 5-year cooperation agreement in the field of Radioactive Waste Management.

Nagra and KRMC (Korean Radioactive Waste Management Corporation) signed today a 5-year cooperation agreement in the field of Radioactive Waste Management.

KRMC was established in 2009 and is responsible for the management of all radioactive waste generated in the Republic of Korea (South Korea) – the 20 operating nuclear power plants, waste from industry, research and medicine, as well as future waste. Mr. Min, Kye-hong, President and CEO, signed the agreement together with Nagra’s CEO, Dr. Thomas Ernst. The 2-day information exchange meetings with KRMC included bilateral discussions at Nagra, a visit to Zwilag, the Swiss interim storage facility, and a field visit to the Grimsel Test Site.
