Severin Wälchli elected to Nagra’s Executive Board

Nagra’s Board of Directors elected Severin Wälchli as new Division Head Planning & Construction of Deep Geological Repositories and member of the Executive Board as of 1st July.

Severin Wälchli has a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH Zürich). He started his professional career with ABB and then held various positions with the Pöyry Schweiz AG company where he worked for over ten years. His responsibilities at Pöyry included the safety of underground facilities and managing major projects. Wälchli has been Nagra’s Deputy Division Head Planning and Construction since April 2019.

After four years on the Executive Board, the previous Division Head Patrick Senn will leave Nagra to dedicate himself to new tasks. “We thank Patrick Senn for his contributions and wish him all the best for the future”, says Nagra’s CEO, Thomas Ernst.
