Hello

Thank you for your interest in the project of the century of deep geological disposal. To keep you up to date with the latest developments surrounding this project, we would like to send you an English newsletter several times a year.

Six months ago, we announced our siting proposal for the construction of the deep geological repository. Since then, all eyes have been on the region that will host the repository. How do people react to this? What questions do they have?

Our German neighbours just across the Rhine River and thus close to the siting region also have concerns. This is a good opportunity to engage in dialogue across national borders. Scientific exchange does not stop at borders, either: international collaboration helps to solve national problems.

Our French partner organisation is one step ahead of us: Andra submitted its construction licence application for its deep geological repository in mid-January. Congratulations!

The safe disposal of radioactive waste requires intensive scientific research. In our teams, qualified men and women work together to find solutions. However, women are still underrepresented in scientific professions.

Female role models help to attract more girls and young women to careers in science and technology.
