Literaturzusammenstellung zur Neotektonik

This report provides a review about neotectonic effects and structural elements observed in Switzerland and the bordering countries. It is based on nearly 300 references, which are incorporated as abstracts and summaries. This compilation, which was updated periodically, provided a basis for the neotectonic research programme of Nagra.

Uplifts and subsidences, earthquakes, the regional stress pattern in the Earth's crust as well as numerous faults, kakirites etc. representing a predominantly brittle deformation, are the most described phenomena. Such signs of neotectonic deformation are not only present in the Alps, but also in the foreland plains, in the Jura mountains and in the Southern Black Forest. They are observed throughout the entire rock sequence, i.e. in the cystalline basement as well as in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata.
