Nördlich Lägern: Applications for exploration permits opened for public inspection

The inspection period for the applications for exploration permits in five siting communities in the Nördlich Lägern region starts

Nagra submitted applications for six exploratory boreholes in the siting region Nördlich Lägern to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) in mid-August 2017. The boreholes will be used to investigate the geological and hydrogeological properties of the underground rock formations. A separate permitting procedure is carried out for each application; the permits are expected to be granted by the end of 2018.

The documentation supporting the applications was opened for public inspection today in the communities in the Nördlich Lägern siting region where boreholes are planned. The applications can be inspected at the local community offices over a period of 30 days. Information sessions are also being offered in each community, with Nagra staff being available to answer questions.
